3rd Field Ambulance
Searching for any information on the original 3rd Field Ambulance from its inception until the Gallipoli evacuation. A relative, 174 Pte William Lindsay, landed with C section and was on the peninsula until his evacuation in mid-August. Letters, diaries, photos from Egypt and Gallipoli...any info welcome.

Re: 3rd Field Ambulance
First place to start is of course the Australian War memorial but there is a wealth on 3 FD AMB because John SIMPSON Kirkpatrick was a stretcher bearer in this unit.
I would also recommend this book http://www.warbooks.com.au/OutOfPrintBooks/thebodysnatchers.html The Body Snatchers by the Austens (but will have to find it on the second hand market)
Cheers
