Re: 15th Battalion -
Thanks, Jeff. I am on Alexander Fax's mailing list so will buy from them. They stock our book (Wellington's Finest) so I will support them.
Try a google search for John Burridge perhaps.

Re: 15th Battalion -
Thanks for the Burridge contact - I remember seeing this website ages ago before I left Australia.
Jeff - If you need an unpaid research assistant for your 4th Div researches, give us a yell. I''ve gone over almost every square km of 4th Division ground, have hundreds of photographs, know people in France who can help, and know Passchendaele, Bullecourt, the Somme Uplands, very well.
Are you planning a book like Prior and Wilson do? Or more colourful? Like Richard Holmes' popular stuff?

Re: 15th Battalion -
Hi All,
Last year Richard Carey kindly lent me his History of the 15th Battalion book by Chataway. I have scanned the entire book and have all chapters in PDF format on CD. If anyone would like a copy please let me know. I'm not sure about copyright breach, but I would like to think that in trying to keep the memories alive it is warranted.
As I stated in an earlier post my interest in the 15th Batallion is in researching my Great Uncle (Albert Stanley Scott) 15th Bat FCoy, KIA 28/04/15 Gallipoli. Any information or photos people may uncover on B/F Coy prior to the 28/04/15, please let me know where to find it.
Cheers Steve

Re: 15th Battalion -
Hi Steve,
I have also met Richard Carey and swapped info on the 15th Battalion.
Did Richard show you the photo of the Qld group of the 15th Battalion he has.He very kindly lent it to me so I could get it copied.
Was your Great Uncle- Albert Stanley a Queenslander or a Tasmanian.?
Regards,
Paul

Re: 15th Battalion -
My g.grandfather, Cpl Colin McAlister (#5151)transfered to the 15th in May 1917 to join his brother LCpl Daniel McAlister (#4851). Colin was awarded a congrat. card for his efforts at Zonnenbeke and the DCM at Hamel whilst with the 15th. I'm looking for any information on Colin, Daniel and the 15th Btn in general. It seems the Btn history is hard to get hold of so any info or tips for research materials would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 15th Battalion -
Just came across this forum and have really enjoyed reading the posts. My Grandfather Cpl Jeremiah Scully (1802) was in the 15th Battalion too. He served at Gallipoli and was captured at Bullecourt. One memory of his time as a POW in Germany(Limburg, Friedrichsfeld and Parchim) was the women and children begging for food outside the wire and the Australian POWs throwing the contents of Red Cross parcels over to them. He decided to stay in London (Earls Court) after his release and had a real job on his hands to get discharged in the UK in September 1919.
If any member is visiting the Australian POW memorial in Brisbane I would dearly love a photo of his name on the memorial to add to my archive.
I'm planning to be at Bullecourt on 11 April 2007, the 90th anniversary, and hope to share a drink with any other 15th Battalion fanatics in the 'Canberra' bar. Hope that others will be there to make it a special day.
