Re: Where was Nudgee Station WW1
Thanks for the reply. I saw the Lighthorse display in Toowoomba and was pretty impressed.

Re: Where was Nudgee Station WW1
Good to hear from you Rob!
I had not got a response to my last e-mail. So glad to hear you are 'back in the saddle' as it were.
I always picked you as a Queenslander. So you were a Riverina boy. My Great Grandfather (7LHR) grew up in Junee signed up in Cootamundra just down the road from Temora. Went to a Pratt (Great Grandmothers maiden name) family reunion many years back at Ilabo?
Could we be related?

Re: Where was Nudgee Station WW1
Crikey, Rob! I lived in Temora from 1969 to 1972, when I finished Year 12. My parents had a super spreading and crop spraying business there until they retired and left town.

Re: Where was Nudgee Station WW1
Well I think I know you then Graham,,,,, you had an elder sister?? I finished school at THS in 1969 and moved to Narrabri in April 1970.
Martin, That Toowoomba exhibition took 2 years to organise and will probably never be reassembled because it was assembled from 5 museums and a number of private collections. The funding from the Vet Affairs was helpful but went no where near covering my costs and if it wasnt for support from my helpers and the C.O. of 2nd/14th Light Horse Regiment (QMI) it would not have happened.
The collection of flags and Guidons will probably never be moved like that again, they are too fragile. I would love to see the Chauvel Maxim-Nordenfeld gun put back on wheels and on display again rather than hiding in the back shed at Qld Museum. The uniforms gave a complete progression of Light Horse uniforms from 1897 to 2000. I am currently working on some more shearers strike details for the Jondaryn Woolshed weekend in August.

Re: Where was Nudgee Station WW1
You are right, Rob. My sister Heather was one year ahead of me at school, so she would have been in Year 10 (4th Form) in 1969.
