Hi, I am trying to find Lieutenant Leonard Benson, a soldier in WW1.
He is mentioned in 2 newspaper articles in Raymond Terrace Examiner Fri 15 Sept 1916 page3 para4. and
Raymond Terrace Examiner .. Fri Nov 7 1919 page 3 paras 1 &6
Ihave tried AWM and naa sites and had no success.
Benson is on the WW1 memorial in Karuah. There is also a Jack Milton mentioned in 1916 article who I can't locate.

Hi Benita

Haven't looked at this forum for quite a while, as it's pretty much inactive these days - so your post must have been sending out vibes to me!! emoticon

Anyway, I think you may find that the Leonard Benson you're looking for is actually Renard Benson:
http://recordsearch.naa.gov.au/scripts/Imagine.asp?B=3074225

His name has been mistakenly listed at different times throughout his service record as both Leonard & Benard. Although born in NZ - his family lived in Karuah.

Finding him, was a boon for me also, as he has just been added to one of my databases - owing to the fact that he married whilst overseas.

Best of luck with your research,
Cheers, Frev
